Key Responsibilities

• Install trim and molding: Fit baseboards, crown molding, chair rails, and window casings.
• Hang doors and windows: Install interior and exterior doors, frames, and operational hardware.
• Construct custom woodwork: Build and fit cabinets, bookshelves, and stair components.
• Read blueprints: Interpret architectural plans to align work with design specs.
• Perform repairs: Fix, sand, or patch damaged woodwork and surfaces.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High attention to detail: Measurements and cuts must be exact to avoid visible gaps or waste.
• Tool proficiency: Expert use of miter saws, nail guns, routers, sanders, and hand tools.
• Math skills: Strong geometry and arithmetic for precise angle calculations.
• Physical stamina: Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy materials.
• Experience or training: High school diploma followed by an apprenticeship or relative trade experience.
